A 55-year-old US woman has broken the Guiness World Record to become the most tattooed woman.
Julia Gnuse got her first tattoo at the age of 35, steadily gaining more ink over the course of 20 years to see them occupy 95 percent of her body. All of Julia Gnuse’s tattoos were done by the same artists.
Miss Gnuse, started getting tattoos on her legs after developing a skin condition called porphyria, which causes the skin to blister when exposed to sunlight.
In an interview, Miss Gnuse said although the ink did not stop her skin from blistering, it covered up the scars and allowed her to be exposed to the sun.

Eating More Protein To Lose Weight
We already know that in dieting, you need to make sure that you keep your protein intake high in order to avoid burning off your muscle tissues. However, this article is not going to talk about that. What I’m going to share with you is how to use protein to help you boost your metabolism and increase your ability to burn fat.
A recent study published by the American Journal of Physiology shows a distinct result between 2 groups that were given a high protein diet and another group consuming a protein diet near equal to the recommended daily allowance.
The group with high protein consumption was found to burn more fat as in comparison to the other group. One reason for this is the increase of “thermic” effect. As much as 42% of thermic effect has been recorded from the group with high protein diet as compared to 16% from the RDA group.
The thermic effect occurs approximately 1 hour after eating. This is why eating every 2 to 3 hours over 6 meals a day is recommended to take advantage of this metabolic rate Therefore, the more you eat, the higher your metabolic rate becomes which means the higher the calories your body burns every day.
Additionally, by just adding protein to each meal could increase your metabolism. This is because your body needs more calories to process the proteins than just to digest carbohydrates. This is the reason why I beg to disagree to all those people who call themselves experts and have continually said that a calorie is just a calorie.
This is simply not true! Our body’s metabolic rate depends entirely on the meals we eat, the frequency between that meals, and energy and composition of those meals.
In layman’s terms, a calorie is not simply a calorie, and they have never been equal.
Basically there are three factors that will affect the person’s metabolism and that is the number of meals, the frequency of meals, and the macro nutrient composition of those meals.
I have outlined below very simple changes you need to implement in your diet that will help you build muscles and burn fats at the same time.
1. Try to eat six meals a day as compared to 2 or 3 larger ones. This will make sure that your body will have the nutrients it needs to build muscles and burn fat. This will also prevent your body from entering into “starvation” mode, which happens if you go too long between meals. When this happened your body will burn the muscle for energy and attempts to store fats, and ultimately slowing your metabolism. These are the things that you need to avoid. In fact, these are exactly the opposites from what you are trying to achieve.
2. Consume a high protein diet that consists of at least 1 gram of protein per pound of lean body mass. This will make sure that your body has enough resources to maintain positive nitrogen balance thereby increasing your muscle mass.
These are just simple changes that you can do in your nutrition program and will definitely increase the buildup of your muscle mass, the burning of unwanted fats, achieving a husky body that you have always been dreaming of. For women, these changes will help them develop long, sexy, and sculpted body, they have been longing for.

How Hair Growth Cycles Affect Your Hair
An understanding hair growth cycles is important especially if you are experiencing issues with slow hair growth. A variety of factors can impact the health of your hair. Medication, diet, stress, and improper care can all take their toll on your hair’s growth.
You need to understand hair’s structure, growth process and what can affect the process if you want to prevent hair loss. Did you know that hair is one of the fastest growing parts of your body? Additionally, hair is actually a protein called keratin. That’s why it is very important to consume enough protein in your diet.
Hair’s structure has three different layers. Thick hair has an inner layer called the medulla. The cortex is the hair’s middle layer and creates texture, color, and strength. The final outer layer is called the cuticle and helps protect the hair. Hair is enclosed in follicles and grows out at the root.
There are two layers of skin that nourish hair. First is the root layer and beneath that is the dermal papilla. The bloodstream transports nutrients from your body to the hair’s root. The root is the only living part of the hair so it’s critical that you nourish your scalp and body properly in order to keep hair looking and feeling healthy.
Did you know that you have between 100,000 and 150,000 hairs? Hair growth occurs in three stages: anagen, catagen, and telogen. 90% of hair is in the growing phase while the other 10% are in the resting phase.
During the anagen phase hair is actively growing. Men have a shorter anagen phase than women do. And the anagen phase last longer on the scalp than on other areas of the body. It is normal for a small amount of hair to fall out during the catagen phase. When hair is not growing and before it falls out, it is in the resting phase which is known as the telogen phase.
The shortest stages of hair growth are the catagen and telogen phases which only last a few weeks while the anagen phase lasts around 5 years. Losing hair is very normal and the average hair loss per day is 100 hairs. This becomes noticeable only when you’ve lost more than 50% of your hair.
New Lenovo Skylight and U1 Hybrid to use Google Android- Reviews
First the good news: Lenovo realized that nobody wants to use a custom Linux-based user interface with virtually no third party apps on the company’s upcoming Skylight smartbook and Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid tablet/laptop device. So Lenovo is killing the Skylight OS project and will instead use Google Android on those two devices.
Now the bad news: that means Lenovo is pushing back the launch dates for both the Skylight and the IdeaPad U1.
At this point it’s not clear when either product will reach the market. But hopefully by the time they do, they’ll be able to access the tens of thousands of Google Android apps that make mobile devices more than simply portable web browsers.
Lenovo is also leaving open the possibility of using software and technologies besides Google Android. But since Lenovo’s first smartphone is Android-based, Android seems like a good fit for the Skylight and U1 Hybrid. Both tablets have the same 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor found in the Lenovo LePhone smartphone.
When I got a chance to check out the Lenovo Skylight at CES in January, it was running an early build of Lenovo’s Skylight software. The UI was reasonably attractive and it was quite snappy on the Skylight hardware. But Adobe Flash video playback was a bit choppy, and the fact that there were barely any apps made the OS a lot less attractive than Android.
You can check out my hands-on video with the Lenovo Skylight after the break. For now I guess we can consider it a requiem for a dead platform.
Update: Engadget reports that Lenovo is hoping to ship Android-based products in the 4th quarter of 2010. But it’s not quite clear at the moment if that means stripping the Skylight and U1 hybrid of the Skylight OS and slapping on Android, or completely retooling the product line.
I’m guessing it would be fairly simple to throw Android on the Skylight smartbook, since the hardware is quite similar to the Compaq Airlife 100 smartbook, which runs Android.
But the U1 Hybrid could be a different beast, since it was designed as a two-part machine. Slot the tablet into the keyboard and you have a Windows 7 tablet. Remove the tablet and it would run Skylight OS — and when you docked it again, you could pick up reading web pages where you left off. It might be a bit tougher to make that work with Android, although Mozilla is clearly working on a way to sync open browser tabs among different versions of Firefox on different platforms.
Lenovo has also started referring to the U1 as a “concept,” which doesn’t bode well for the future of this device… which was supposed to be released in June.
