Jobs That Can Make You Rich

Jobs That Can Make You Rich

There’s a fine line between making money and having time to enjoy it. What’s the use of having millions of dollars if you spend 18 hours a day making it? Some people enjoy the pure thrill of earning money and that is their relaxation. But for normal people, they want time to spend it. That makes it extremely important to find the highest paying job possible that allows you the time to do the things that money can allow you to do. Here is a list of some of the highest paying jobs and their impact on your time.

Surgeon

Surgeons are the highest paid doctors and can rank near the top of the pay scales, surpassed only by those in business. Surgeons can easily bring in a $500,000 annually and the top paid surgeons make much more. To become a surgeon requires a lot of time initially. For upwards of 10 years you will have little time for anything else. But once you are established, the hours do not have to be extreme and you will be left with plenty of free time if you choose.

Dentist

Though it still requires a lot of schooling, becoming a dentist is not near as time intensive as becoming a surgeon. In just a few years you can have a practice up and running and have a very set schedule that allows you plenty of free time. Top paid dentists make well over $100,000 a year and successful practices can bring in much more.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

If you want the really big bucks, this may be the route. However, there are several pitfalls. First, there are relatively few of these positions available and they often are hard to come by. There is no guarantee that you will ever land one. If you do, you could soon be rolling in cash. The top paid CEOs can make hundreds of millions of dollars a year in salary, stock and bonuses. More commonly, CEOs earn a few hundred thousand dollars a year. The time commitment for a CEO is rigorous. You are almost never off work as problems can arise at any minute. Some sectors will allow you more free time than others, but if you’re looking for ample free time, stay away from this job.

Engineering Manager

Engineers can make pretty good cash and have regular work hours. But if you want to make the most money as an engineer, you need to become a manager. This job averages $150,000 a year or more, but can take up a lot more time than just being a simple engineer. Managers must bridge the gap between business and engineering and therefore wear two hats.

Information System Managers

This is a great field for anyone interested in computers. The field is growing rapidly and even an entry level job can often earn you a six figure salary. The hours are generally pretty stable unless a problem occurs. IT systems managers can often secure project management positions that pay very well. In the computer industry, these are among the most lucrative jobs.

Pharmacists

If you want to be involved in medicine without the icky stuff, becoming a pharmacist is a good choice. Schooling is less than to become a doctor and pharmacists are paid very well. The hours are usually a 9 to 5 situation, though they can vary. Either way, you will have plenty of time to spend that cash.

This is obviously a short list, but it gives you an idea of the trade-off between money and time. Which combination you want is up to you but choose carefully. It is after all a career choice.
