Lose Fat Around Belly With Alcohol

Alcohol must be one of the most ignored factors when it comes to people trying to lose fat around belly areas. I think the most likely reason for this is because it's a liquid as opposed to a solid. However, liquids can cause just as much weight gain as solids if you consume enough of them. This article aims to clarify why exactly alcohol can cause you to put on weight as well as giving you some ideas as to how you might lose fat around belly areas whilst still enjoying the occasional drink



So let's get straight down to it - why does alcohol cause you to gain weight? Well, it all comes down to calories. You see, your body requires a certain number of calories each day for the energy to function. However, when you're consuming more calories than your body needs, you will begin to pile on those pounds. The problem with alcoholic drinks is how many calories they contain.

You might have a fantastically balanced diet, but if you're drinking a few pints of beer a day, you can easily begin to go over your recommended calorie consumption. For example, just one pint of beer can equate to a massive 400 calories! That's the equivalent of eating an entire chocolate bar or a big bag of Doritos! Just because alcohol is a liquid product doesn't mean that it's not going to make you fat.

The same problem comes with drinking a lot of sugary drinks such as Coke and Pepsi. Even Gatorade and Powerade contain massive amounts of sugar and calories that are somehow hidden by the fact that they're just a drink. The way you can begin to control your calorie consumption through drinking too much is simply by reducing how often you have alcohol or sugary drinks.

A lot of people seem to have a distaste for water, but it's honestly the best fluid you can go for. It's something your body needs 8 glasses of each day to function and perform all its chemical reactions. Better yet, it doesn't contain any calories or sugars, so you can drink as much as you like. Now I know that water's not the most exciting drink around, but there are loads of alternatives for spicing it up, such as low sugar cordials.

This is not to say that you have to give up your alcohol, but I'm just asking you to be more aware of the calorie levels present in these drinks. If you want to lose fat around belly areas, you'll have to moderate your drinking habits as well as your eating. The fact that you might have to replace your Pepsi with iced water is hardly a big deal when you consider the end result. If you stick to this, your weight loss results will be phenomenal.
